About us.
Phi Gamma Delta, commonly known as Phi Gam, is one of the oldest fraternities at The University of Alabama, with its Theta Chapter founded on May 11, 1855. It was the second fraternity established at UA and has remained a prominent presence on campus ever since.
As a member of the Interfraternity Council (IFC), we are active in campus life and emphasize leadership, scholarship, and service. The chapter participates in philanthropy events such as the IFC Chili Fest and “Coronas for Cojones,” supporting the Livestrong Foundation in testicular cancer research. We’ve also contributed to community efforts like the “5th Quarter” program, which collects leftover food from football games to donate to those in need.
Academically, the fraternity has maintained a strong GPA and has previously been recognized as “Fraternity of the Year” by the university.
Phi Gam is also one of the most involved fraternities on campus at UA, with members actively participating in a wide range of organizations. These include Capstone Men & Women, the Student Government Association (SGA), Interfraternity Council (IFC), Culverhouse Ambassadors, Greek Ambassadors, and the Jason’s Senior Men’s Honor Society, among others.
